Directions

Getting to the island of Ærø is uncomplicated and a special experience. The quickest option is by car on the A7 towards Flensburg. After crossing the border, continue on the motorway and then take the country road 8 past Sonderborg to the Fynshav ferry port. From here, you can continue across the Baltic Sea on the electric ferry "Ellen". The crossing takes around an hour and is the perfect way to get in the mood for your holiday. Departure times and bookings for the ferry from Fynshav to Søby and all other ferry connections to Ærø can be found here: www.aeroe-ferry.dk.
Map & route planning
Arrival by car
Although Ærø is an island, it is very easy to reach by car. The journey from Hamburg only takes about 3:30 hours including the ferry crossing. When you disembark at Søby harbor, simply follow the main road up the hill. From Søby harbor it is only about 1.4 km to our farm, which is on the right-hand side of the road after leaving the town and is easy to recognize by the large sign. You can also leave the car in the Fynshav car park and walk onto the ferry. By arrangement, we will be happy to pick you up at the ferry dock in Søby. We generally recommend reserving and booking the ferry early.
Arrival by bike
From Flensburg it is about 40 km by bike to Fynshav and you can cycle along a beautiful coastal road. In Fynshav you then board the electric ferry. There is always room for bicycles and pedestrians on the ferry to Søby (Ærø). In high season, however, you should reserve and book a place online.
Arrival by train
It is convenient to take the train to Svendborg/Fyn (via Odense). From here it is only a 5-minute walk from the train station to the ferry. The ferry from Svendborg goes to Ærøskøbing and takes about 70 minutes. If the ferry lands in Ærøskøbing (about 15 km from Økogård), there is a direct bus from there to Søby, which also stops right in front of the organic farm if you ask the bus driver to stop at Økogård (ÆRØ VIN). We are also happy to pick you up from the ferry by arrangement.
Have a nice trip!
